Hi Sara,

Sorry for getting back late to you on this as I had to check with my colleagues.

In reply to your answer, I am afraid it is NO. The IANA contract has nothing to do with sanctions / embargoes.

Thank you,

Hi Fahd,

Eid Adha Mubarak

Is this going to effect on the embargo rules and the sanctions that happened in some countries, or .....?

I read the links but i did not find any explanation for that

Subject: [sdnog] Updates on the IANA Stewardship Transition

Friends and Colleagues,

As the IANA contract nears its expiration on 30 September 2016, there has been a lot of media coverage and attention on the IANA Stewardship Transition. Some coverage has been fair, while others have been misleading and simply inaccurate. ICANN has developed two webpages that explain what one needs to know about the IANA Stewardship Transition.

· Five Things You Need to Know About the IANA Stewardship Transition ( here ); and · Answering Some of Your Questions on the Stewardship Transition ( here ).

Finally, Internet Society’s (ISOC) CEO Kathryn Brown has published a piece in The Hill where she shares a fare insight of what the transition is all about. You can read her piece at <http://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/technology/295021-inaccurate-rhetoric-must-not-short-circuit-internet-transition> http://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/technology/295021-inaccurate-rhetoric-must-not-short-circuit-internet-transition .

And for those celebrating Eid ul-Adha, Adha Mubarak!

Thank you,

Fahd Batayneh
